Looking at my options for boats...while searching craigslist I came across this http://corpuschristi.craigslist.org/boa/2435468673.html. Looks alright. Price is good. My question is, the boat has been in storage for 2 years and the motor hasnt been turned either. What can I expect to get it running assuming it was running normally last time it was in the water?

Next question is, I plan on using it in shallow salt water...this is obviously a bass boat used in fresh water. Does that matter? Will it get stuck in shallow water

Next boat we are looking at, which is totally different looking than the bass boat is here

My question with this boat is, the ad says all it needs is a steering cable. Is this a big deal to fix? Or is just a matter of buying the cable and hooking it up?

They are two very different boats but either one will be used only for the purpose of shallow salt water fishing.
Thanks!

The 18 foot aluminum with the poling platform is the better choice for a flats boat. Steering is not that hard to fix, but depends on what is wrong. Could be as simple as a cable replacement or the whole helm could be locked up. The motor is another story. "Starts good" doesn't really mean much, particularly on a saltwater motor.
