I have a 1958 35 hp Evinrude and need a flywheel, standard short shaft drive shaft and armature plate...what year and size engine parts would fit this engine? In checking eBay there are many listed for other sizes, what year and size would fit this engine?

1858 !!! I think thats gonna be hard to find :D Well they turn up on ebay too, now and then, and if you have a local salvage yard, he should have a couple too, its a part that rarely fails.

thanks for the info...but what years are the same as my 58 35 hp? There are drive shafts, flyheels etc for later models up for auction will any other years fit? I plan to attend a local club swap meet and want to be prepared to look for parts from other models I can use.

Hi R.Bushie,
The driveshaft from any of the 35hp models from 1957 to 1959 should work, as well as those from the '56 30hp and '55 25hp. Armature plate is the same for all 35s, as is the flywheel. An electric start flywheel from a '55 25 or '56 30hp should fit, too.
Drop me a line - I can take a look through my parts pile... csr112-n@prodigy.net.
- Scott
