Freshly cleaned carb, good fuel flow all the way to carb, fresh gas, both spark plugs firing. Runs great in neutral or on rabbit ears, put in water and it has zero power. Lift prop out of water and she revs up fine. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forums,

How old is that horse ? does the engine accelerate in neutral on water for short periods at near all throttle range and boogs down only when on gear ? When missing remove plugs, check possible water intrussion, head gasket related. Are you using correct gapped plugs ?

Happy Boating

A lot of questions to ask here...when you say zero power you mean it goes, just not very fast or takes forever to get up to speed? We need more details about your current setup: what boat? What load? What prop? Did you just buy this engine? Have you had it for a while and it just started doing this? If so, what happened last? There are too many possiblites when it comes to this stuff for you to just start a post like that and expect a homerun right off the bat. Details?

1999 model on a 1436 duracraft. Ran great before I loaned it out. Now it only bogs down when in gear and under a load, its not getting enough power to get the RPMs up.

I'm not seeing signs of water intrusion. I will check gap on plugs.
