165 hp inline 6 W.O.T. SPEC

Hello all I am looking for the wide open throtle spec for a 1974 mercruiser 165 hp inline six cylinder in a 20' fiber form boat . I ask because i am trying to pick a new prop any info would be great thanks

I believe it's 3800-4200.

Make sure you have the engine tuned up and running properly before you do your WOT test.<br />You should have 3900 to 4300 rpm at WOT.<br /><br /> Click here for the Merc Specs.

What pitch are you looking at? I have a 20' Grady and am turning a 15" pitch to get ~3900 at WOT.

Thanks Everyone the wot spec will get me started<br />the prop size will come , i have rebuilt the interior from the foam up so i am hoping it will be allot lighter than it was we will have to wait ontill the snow melts to test her out Thanks again

At 4300+ the (250 cid-6) gets real angry.
