16' isn't a lot of length and beam is important too. In my estimation, having been in that length boats in fairly rough water and all with wide beam boats for the length, 2 people is about all you want with gear and fuel. Overloading just leads to disaster and heart ache.......just not worth it.

What kind of water are you boating in? A pond, large lake, ocean? I've boated in some areas where overloading didn't make any difference. If we sank it, we all laughed, and then walked to shore. In other areas, that would have been a death sentence.

Max is likely 6 persons or approx 900 lbs. Do the math, the last number is the one that counts. I weigh 225lbs and I'm 6'4". Two guys my size is all I want in my 16' deep V. Beyond that it becomes hard to fish. I've fished three but trolling takes some practice and the others better know what they're doing or you'll have a mess on your hands at the first fish-on.

My 18' and 22' were good with 4 people but the 16 is best with 2. That's one of the reasons I downsized, I got tired of no loads hitching rides.
