I have a 93 tracker pontoon with a center half log and a 40hp evinrude on it. When I take this out on the water, it only runs about 10mph according to my GPS. Would removing the center log help speed this boat up any? Also, the motor can actually be set down about 2 more inches on the back. Would that help at all?

Re: 16 FT Tracker Pontoon

10 mph seems a bit slow for a 40, what are you turnin for rpm. There are a lot of variables here but one thought that comes to mind is cavitation. where does the bottom of your prop sit in relation to the bottoms of your logs. my rig runs about 23mph so as just i wild guess I would think you should be closer to 15-16mph.
