15hp manual trim stuck and tight steering

I have a 2001 15hp merc and the trim is jammed. Its set up so when its in forward you can raise it up but its jammed down and will only budge an inch. I tried to raise if up and saw some metal shavings on the left side by the trim lock unlock. I haven't had a chance to take it off the dinghy yet and check it out, just wondering if anyone has the problem. Also the steering sometimes gets really tight with the copilot off all the way. thanks

You need tu pull the whole swivel bracket out and do a full maintenance on parts that slides, rotates and tilts, these parts should be greased periodically.

Well I took the motor off and figured it out. One of the bolts that holds the guide (think piece of metal and bolt slides on the inside of it) backed out a whole bunch and would not let the bracket come up. Turned bolt back in greased it all up and its now good again
