15hp evinrude not firing on lower cylinder

my 1978 15hp evinrude isn't firing on the lower cylinder. it has new coils and power pack with some new champion QL77JC4 spark plugs. i would appreciate any help to figure out what is wrong. it started by it firing up on one and then once it warmed up it would fire both and the problem progressively has gotten worse.

You might try swapping the coils and see if the problem follows the coil. Just because they're new, doesn't mean they're not bad. Also, if you're using the old wires, you might have some corrosion on the ends that needs trimming off and reinstalling on the coil pin. You might try running it in the dark and see if you see any arcing from a cracked wire or somewhere else. Also, check your plug for any water that might be leaking for a bad head gasket or exhaust cover seal.

Thanks for the help. I put new plug wires on and i swapped out the coils also. I will try the runnin the dark idea to check for any shorts in wires

I got it running like a top. It was a bad connection between power pack and coil
