15hp evinrude lower end

I'm working on a friend of mines 1983 15 hp evinrude outboard.The motor runs fine but under power it jumps out of gear.I dismantled the prop end.after taking out the prop shaft,a small "U"shaped clip also came out.Near as i can tell this clip is the top half of the selector arm which holds the selector dog.After trying to remove the yolk(by removing the phillips screw)<br />Unsucessful by the way!The screw came out but the yolk stayed in.HELP!!Any suggestions greatly welcomed.
