So i am under the assumption that if i replace the pumphousing on my yamaha pro vrx with one that has the replaceable wear ring, it should restore my top end, because i think that the impeller is in good condition. There seems to be very little space if any between the housing and the impeller, is this good or bad? I am hoping that the housing is the reason, becasue the engine runs fine but i just cant get the ski to stop the rpm's from bouncing toward top even though my speed isn't that great. I just want to know if that plastic wear ring is a good thing to get because i have heard that the stock stainless liner bumps out from corrosion.

If this doesn't fix the problem, i guess it has to be the impeller.

Re: ???

usually the bad wear ring wears out the edges of the impeller, replace the wear ring and see if the space is big from the edge of the impeller to the ring, can't go by the old one since it is bulged.
