150HP BlackMax storage

In a few months when the boating season is over, I plan on doing some major cosmetic work on the boat. To make things easier I plan on removing the 150HP BlackMax and setting it out of the way. It isn't a problem removing the engine, as I have an automotive engine hoist as well as a strong engine stand. My question is can the engine be laid down horizontially without any problems? I can modify the engine stand to support it upright, but it would be out of the way if I could put it against the wall. All fluids will be drained and it will basically be winterized. May seem like a strange question, and I really see no reason it would be damaged in anyway by being on its side. Thanking everyone and anyone that reply.

The engine will not mind laying down. Make sure all water has drained. Change the gear oil, and leave it full. Make sure the cowling is not damaged.

Thanks Chris, I figured it would be OK, but you know I have done a lot of stupid things in my 66 years, and my response was usually, "Now why did I do that," or "Why didn't I check with someone more knowledgable." I plan to support it as best I can without too much weight on cowling. Thanks again for replying.
