Re: 150FORCE FUEL PROBLEM

I AM NEW TO THE BOATING WORLD AND JUST BOUGHT THE BOAT A MONTH AGO THE GUY I BOUGHT THE BOAT FROM SHOWED ME THE INS AND OUTS AND SAID THE BULB SHOULD GET PRETTY STIFF WHEN PUMPING THE BULB. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB, THE FILTERS. THE PICKUP FILTER IN THE TANK, THE PLUGS, CLEANED THE CARBS OUT WITH CLEANER, AND STILL HAS BEEN VERY HARD STARTING. ON ONE ATTEMPT OF STARTING I NOTICED THE STARTER KICKING BACK AND PULLED THE PLUGS AND THE LOWER CYLINDER WAS FULL OF FEUL. SO I TOOK ALL THE PLUGS OUT TURNED THE MOTOR OVER TO CLEAN OUT THE FUEL. BEFORE I CHANGED THE NEEDLE IN THE ONE CARB FUEL WAS COMING OUT THE CARB WHEN PRIMING THE ENGINE AND ALSO THE EXHAUST. NOW FUEL ONLY COMES OUT THE EXHAUST. THIS HAS THREE CARBS AND THE LOWER CARB IS THE ONE THAT WAS LEAKING.

Re: 150FORCE FUEL PROBLEM

I would recommend you go through all three. One of the upper carbs. may have the same symptoms. More than likely. Fuel will run downhill and flood the lower cyls.

You've done just about everything else. I am not really familiar with Force engines. Perhaps the fuel pump needs servicing also?

Re: 150FORCE FUEL PROBLEM

21...dont bother with the carbs...you checked them already, and a leak would be obvious....you have a fuel pump diaphram that has a hole in it, causing fuel to pass from the pump directly into the cylinder and out the exhaust....replace both pump diaphrams and you should be OK...
