I have a 1995 150 O.P. that has oil leaking from under the engine cover running all the way down the outside of the lower unit puddling on the ground.I have not been able to find out were the leak is coming from and would like to what the problem is and how to fix it.The last few times I have been out I started to notice it seems to smoke alot more than normal, the smoke is white if this helps.I have not run the boat since the leak started fearing I might damage the engine.I should also tell you the engine sat up for about a year, then after using it this summer this problem started.Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Re: 150 Ocean Pro oil leak?

Welcome to iboats Mike......

Look real close at the oil supply hose from the VRO reservoir under the hood. It's possible that from a set up period a hose has gotten hard and lost it's grip on a connection. Follow the oil line from where it enters the engine pan all the way to the VRO pump. Any wet spots should be suspect. Also look at the recirc lines. These are the small lines running around the engine to recirc the fuel/oil mix from the leaf plate assemble into the cylinders. Start the engine on muffs if ya' have to in the drive way. Ya' might also want to look for any leaking gasket joints. I would think maybe a line is lose or a recirc line has come off it's nipple......

Keep us posted.
