i have a 1992 150 hp carbed powerhead with a rod trough the case. i found a short block, for a 2001 optimax 135.

will the electrical and carbs be able to be transfered to the new short block.
or are there other compatibility issues?.

Will not interchange without some major modifications. Avoid the headache and get proper block. The heads wont even interchange as the 1992 is a 2.0 liter unless you have a XR6 which is a 2.5 like the 135 Opti.

so the head wont bolt onto the body?. the carbs wont fit?.

this will be the 3rd power head on this leg. i used it commercially. to haul fuel and lumber and supplies for a fishing resort. ( got torn up by a tornado in 2006 so money is a lil tite , if the head and carbs will bolt on, i am confidant i can make it run!

the unit began life as a 1992 135, purchased new, used for 13 years then replaced the [powerhead with a 1992 150hp, i got 4 season on the second powerhead, but now need a 3rd.?

If yours is the 2.0 liter nothing will bolt to it. The block has different casting and machined bosses to hold air compressor, alternator.different pistons and heads, upper end caps are different and uses a different ignition system and cooling flow. There are plenty of 2.0 engine out there. A 1981 thru 2001 135-150hp will bolt up with little changes.
