150 johnson problems

I am having a problem finding my vin on my motor. The plate has fallen off. is there anyway esle to find the vin on this motor. I think it is a 1986 it is a cross flow motor and it look like from that point in time. my other question was my motor had ql16v plugs in it and it should have had ul77v. it had a hard time idleing could this be why

there is a round welch plug on top of the block it should have some numbers on it post them
