Recently purchased a boat with a 1986 Mariner magnum 2 stroke carb on it. It sounds like it has a dead spot if you take it from idle to acceleration. It doesn't want to accelerate until throttle gets above 1/2 way. then you have to adjust throttle back & forth to get it to go, then it runs fine at high rpms. This is my first experience with these engines...and I was looking for the carb adjustment and can't locate it on the carb system. The engine will run once you get the throttle adjustment in a good spot, or if you run the boat really hard (which I dont like to do because its hard on the boat and engine)...what else can I do or has anyone had this problem...how can i fix this issue and where is the carb adjustment? thanks

You Probably have a carburetor outta whack or fuel pump that's need a rebuild. There are no adjustments to tha idle on your motor except jet change and/or idle timing. Tha timin' part just raises or lowers idle speed. Idle speed is established with timin' only. Not by any "throttle position" adjustments.......
