hello. How do I determine year and model of this boat? I've found 2 #'s and haven't been able to reference either.

(1) on the inside rear is- 5A9633
(2) on the outside rear is- 2070 D585

thanks for help!

Could anyone out there be able to tell by seeing photos?

If so, I can link some.

I think that is a 1985, stimpy.

Post a pic and I can tell you what model it is.

The classic 15' Boston Whaler is a truly great boat. I have had an 11', a 13', two 16-17's, two 18's and now have a 1986 Striper 15'. She (RED SKY) rides better than the 16 or 17 and handles as well as the 13.

Check the post below, "What is your Whaler?" for pics of her and several other iboats members. Add your boat to the gallery there.

JB, thanks, I think you're right-on- just learned that the engine is a 1985.

Here are a couple of photos-

Just got this boat, unfortunately it's been sitting in the gulf for years without much care. But, that's my job now, really looking forward to turning-it-around!

I'm thinking of installing seating (with backrests) for 4 (total). I want the front 2 to be easily removable, for fishing. The bench behind the console (seating 2) would have either a cooler or the fuel tank underneath.

This is my first boat, EVER! Any suggestions would be great (and probably help keep me safe :).

That is a Striper console, stimpy, but the pedestal seats are not there.

I suspect that it was a Striper ordered without the pedestal seats or that they were removed. The original 48qt Igloo pilot seat has been replaced with a big (105qt?) cooler that has no cushion.

Welcome aboard, Stimpy. Please post some pics as you progress in bringing that Whaler back to life. I guarantee your efforts will pay off with a boat that will really serve you well.
My '89 13' SS 40 hp did yeoman duty this week at our camp while were on vacation. Tours of the lake for the adults followed by tubing for the kids. The screams, laughs, giggles, memories, photos are truly priceless.
Only mangled one prop. One day of vacation wasted tracking down a replacement. Everbody told me, buy a spare before you need it. I'm just passing that along .

Yep, that looks like a Striper to me without the pedestal seats. We have just become owners of a 1978 15' Striper (w/ pedestal seats) and are in the process of restoring it. I'm new to the forum too - it's great to be on board!
