15 HP Evinrude 1982 has spark and fuel no start

I have a 82 Evinrude 15. Soaked carburetor in carburetor cleaner 24 hrs new plugs. Has spark
But will not kick over. Took needle valve out to clean. Even sprayed ether in the head chamber and she will not kick over. Stumpted.

Got to check the compression. If its good then look at the plug and see if it's soaking wet. if it is the plugs could just be foul. had a dirt bike do that once. put in a new plug and ran like new.

Bought a compression tester and one cylinder blew a 30 the other a 55. Guess I have a parts motor. Thanks

this doesn't always work but try soaking the cylinders with transmission fluid overnight. then turn it over a few times with the plags out. repeat the process a few times. it could come back to life. rings can be stuck. It's worth a try.

Pop the cylinder head and look at the gasket . Probably just a blown head gasket. Easy fix. Inspect the cylinder walls when you get the head off for any scarring. Put on the new head gasket if the walls look OK, and check your compression again.
