Just acquirred a Sea King 15 hp outboard, guess it is a Chrysler from the looks of it and what I've read. Can't find a serial #. Problem: starts right up but there is an opening on top of the carb. that spits a steady stream of fuel out of it. What does this sound like, float problem or needle and seat? Is this a shade tree repair, I have pretty fair mechanical knowledge but mostly with v8's. Also the starting mecanism is missing and has to be rope started, anyone have any of those parts? Gonna be run on a 10' hydroplane for my 12 y.o. THANKS!

Sounds like it could be either the needle sticking or the float is not adjusted right. Either one will cause the problem. If you have fair mechanical ability, you should be able to fix it. I suggest getting a service manual or get a carb overhaul kit (NAPA auto parts carries them). The kit usually has diagrams and instructions for float adjustment.

Look here for parts. Without a model number it will be hard to be specific on the exact parts for your motor. Your motor could either have a sierra 18 -7806 or 18-7805 carb kit. My guess is the 7805. This site should have most of what your looking for however I am sure the electric starter parts are going to be hard to find unless you get lucky on ebay
