jobassing.

Your WOT rpm's are about right. How do you know you're only going 30?

Yep, you are close on the RPM's but you are at 40% (or more) slip. Double check your tach and verify the speed. I'm sure we can do better than 40%.

Good luck!

i don't have anything to varify the tach but i cked my speed with the gps yesterday and i'm running 33mph the moters running perfect thanks to help here rebuilt it without a manul and i'm still waiting for the manuall orderd it 3 weeks ago but not sure when i toke it off thay had wedge plates on it and i didn't put them back do you think that 3 degrees would make that much off a diff it didn't plane to great before i rebuilt plans gret now but like i said no top end feels like the boat is draging

Is the tach an OMC tach? Is it set on 6?

Thats what we need to verify to start with. Yes, if the wedges you refer to are positive (trim out) and you removed them yes the boat may feel like its dragging. Dont you have power trim? What year is this 90?

Let us know!

My 16Ft Sportcraft Lead Sled Center Console only does 34 at 5200 with a 12 3/4X21 Prop. The boat weighs 1800 LBS by itself not to mention the engine weight and me an my bud 200+ each. How much weight are you pushing? My tach is accurate and speed from a GPS.

Re: 15 ft tide craft 90 evenrude

See? I thought so. Set it on 6 and go run it and let me know your RPM's. Then we'll redo the slip calculation. And dont be afraid to play with the trim. Always test with your average load and be safe!

Good luck!

OK, now you are at 33% slip (still horrible, but better). Next raise the motor and test again using the same prop. Watch your water pressure. Tell us how much you raised the motor and how many RPM's and speed you gain.

Duplicate the initial test load in the boat.

Let us know!

Re: 15 ft tide craft 90 evenrude

Wow! I'm impressed. You gained 9.6 MPH with only 100 RPM. That's fantastic. Now you are close to 11% slip which is wonderful compared to where you were. Are you sure you were only getting 4900? Maybe 5200 trimmed out?

Anyway, you are on the road to better boating. How was the water pressure? Keep us informed if you raise it again.

Good job!

Re: 15 ft tide craft 90 evenrude

raised it up to the last hole no diff but it did come out of the water so i'm putting it back down do you think the wedge plates would help she planes good with the 14 by 19 prop should i try a diff prop i have a 21 but that didn't help and i bent a blde and really don't wont to fix it if there is nothing else to try i can live with it it's running better then when i bought it
