My hairdressers husband passed away a while ago and she is selling his 14 ft Grumman V hull in order to help make ends meet.

She told me to make an offer but I want to be fair to both her and myself. She indicates the boat is about 20 yrs old but hasn't been in water for the past 10 years. Although I didn't look it over well, it appears to be in good condition and is also sitting on a cox trailer which will need a little work and money. He only used a 40lb. thrust electric motor so there is no engine value on the boat.

I believe it would work well for me on local rivers for my muskie fishing after putting a 9.9hp or something similar on it. From what I can gather from e bay and newspaper classified listings, it is probably worth around $500 to $700.

Does this sound fair, low, or high? Helpful advice appreciated.

is it just an open fisherman with 3 bench seats? 4-7 depending on condition. i have an 18' cobia 135 merc on a cox trailer. no prob. just fo info i fish from a 1960 14' Lonestar, '55 15hp rude, put remote control and ezy glide stick steering, to the middle seat. it's the best 1 man boat in the world. i'm using a 34lb thrust motor guide.
