1985 Johnson 140 #J140TLC0 I hook up battery backwards and tried to start. I replaced rectifier it still does not charge. Battery voltage tested at 11.8 when running.
That's a little low, a fully charged battery should read around 13V, a little over if it's in tip top shape. Will it not charge or hold a charge? It could be just going bad.
I have a new battery but i have too charge it up after a few days out. Yes it will hold a charge. I replaced Rectifier is there anything else thats wrong? The battery is not at 13v-16v when the boat is running.
