135 optimax compression check

I have a 135 opti serial number 1B011305

I have found that it has a broken belt tensioner assembly spring and a worn belt.

I want to do a compression test before I replace said parts. Is there any reason why these need to be functioning properly before performing a compression test?

No...just make sure all plugs are outand kill lanyard is pulled.....
