Weird problem. Wife heard noise outside, turns out somehow tilt went on, stayed on with motor up till battery was dead. Hooked another battery up, motor runs, motor will not go down. What is wrong???

I would guess there is a relief screw, I looke there is an Allen screw on the right side near the reservoir. Which way to turn it ?

That is only the air bleed screw. Bypass screw is on the side

Sounds like a switch failed initially. Now, it sounds like the relay may be faulty. Relay could have been damaged by having power to it for an inordinate amount of time when the switch failed.

Tell the wife that the next time a strange noise is coming from the garage that it needs to be inspected ASAP. If she smelled smoke would she just ignore it and let you know about it after the fact? Hope not.

With respect to lowering the motor manually, after all else fails, follow the directions:

Re: 130 tilt trim stuck up

Thanks all. We have kids riding 4 wheelers all times of the day and night, she figured it was one of them.

As for the unit, the tilt/trim motor runs fine, just wont go up or down. Is there a solenoid that controls any valves? All I have seen are two wires going to the motor. I am hoping if I get it lowered, that it may go up and down. I am charging the battery, and will be testing it tomorrow morning (Saturday). Will post results.

Ok, got home tonight, loosened the screw, it went down. Hooked the battery up and it was trying to go down, hit the switch on the motor and it went up, let go and it went down. That is better....

Turns out it was the switch on the throttle. Sprayed some Blaster oil in it, rocked it a few times, all is well. Thanks for all the help gang
