130 no top end power

Does anyone know on a 72 130 what could be the problem if the boat cranks perfect idles perfect but in the water does not pick up speed and will not get much over idle speed even with the motor wide open. I have already put new spark plugs, Wires, points and have upgraded to a new electronic ignition. Any ideas that I can try?

Are you saying the engine is revving up to wide open, but the boat is crawling?

If so, sounds like a spun propeller hub bushing.
