First, thanks to all that helped me make the decision to take the plunge on this engine in my previous thread.
The model number on this 1995 130 Hp engine is J130TXAOP, it is a very clear number on the plate. The parts model look up database that I used does not have a 1995 130 Johnson with a model number that ends in a 'P'. It does have one that is the same except it ends in an 'R'.
In looking for carb rebuild kits, there is a specific kit made for the one ending in 'P' and one for the model number ending in 'R'. The kits appear very similar looking at the pictures, but one has an additional hole in one of the gaskets and a few extra screws. Can anyone tell me the difference is in models using the 'P' and 'R' suffix number? This engine does have a larger 15 spline prop shaft. The serial number is G03927315, if that offers any clue.
May be nothing, but I am curious.
Thanks, Scott
