125 hp merc force lower unit torque specs

Can someone possibly help me w the torque specs for my"86" merc force 125 4cyl. Lower unit prop shaft assembly bolts and any diagrams of the lower unit would be greatly appreciated thank you very much .

The four bolts that hold in the bearing carrier (spool) are standard 5/16 torque I think 225 inch pounds like the head bolts. Water pump bolts are 70 inch pounds. The anode screws are also 1/4 20 and so would be 70 inch pounds except they are slotted screws and I don't think a hand screwdriver can get that tight.

Prop nut is a nylock self locking nut. Heavy hand tight is good enough

I assume to convert the inch pounds you gave me into foot pounds I need to divide these numbers by twelve ?

Yes they are slotted however I just use my half inch bit adapter for my manual.impact driver on my torque wrench .thanks

Yes, divide by 12 to get foot pounds.\. I don't like to do that because human error on foot pounds is 12 times that on inch pounds. You can get an adequate inch pound wrench at harbor freight for around 20 bucks.
