125 force waterpump housing

putting new impellar in, noticed weep hole in top of housing.it is stopped up what is the purpose of this.thanks for your help jim

Clear it out. Its purpose is to prevent a airlock in the pump which would preclude water from flowing up to the engine. Not a good thing.
