I have a 1992 Force 120hp Serial # OE062505

I am looking for a head gasket for it. I keep finding head gaskets that are solid around the outside area between the bolt holes and the piston. The gasket that came off of the engine has water jacket openings in that area. Do I need a head gasket with those openings or will the other style work, too?

Also, what is a good web source for this gasket and also a Thermostat housing gasket?

Thank you for your help.

Re: 120hp Force Head Gasket

I believe the head is solid in this area. If so, either style head gasket will work equally well. The old style Chrysler heads had rudimentary water jackets there and only a tube running down the outside of the head.

The head gasket was the same part for all Force four cylinder engines until Mercury discontinued the Force engine line so if iboats sells them for later 120 or 125 Force engines, you can get it here.
