120 HP Force L-Drive Removal

Found water in the lower cylinder of 1991 Force L-drive, need to replace the manifold gaskets. What is required to remove the manifold? Do I have to pull the power head?

That depends on what we are talking about exactlty. If you are referring to the adaptor plate under the power head, then yes. If you are talking about the water jacket on the side with the big exhaust L'd tube pointing down, then no.

Pulling the powerhead makes this process a lot easier. I had the same problem with my L-drive and it seems to happen all too often. If you don't catch it in time plan on rebuilding your powerhead.
