120 EVINRUDE GAS PUMP

Hi all<br />I recently bought a boat with 120 hp evinrude 1988 w the famous VRO. The<br />engine has a fuel feed problem. Might be the gas pump.<br />Is there any way I can know it's that ? And if it is, I 've been told<br />one can refit the pump by changing the ??(don't know the word in english)<br />that little piece of material that can get porous .<br />any idea ??<br /><br />thanks in advance and greetings from french riviera :))<br />jean michel

Bon jour, CYJMI. The part in the fuel pump is called a diaphram, and a new one is part of a fuel pump overhaul kit. <br /><br />While you are servicing your fuel feed system, check your tank, pick-up tube in the tank, fuel lines (hoses), and the primer pump bulb for restrictions or air leaks.<br /><br />Red sky at night, Sailor's delight. . .<br /><br />JB :)
