What you have is a flat bottom v hulled boat, not a jon boat. A jon boat is squared off across the front rather than pointed. The slats appear to be some kind of drain for a raised floor it appears in the pics. I am an old timer but can't say I have seen this before. She definitely looks like an older boat. If you decide to upgrade or restore it please show us some finish pics.

Thank you for your response.Yes I plan to restore this boat. The slats do look like some type of flooring was slid in at one time.

I have the same boat only mine is a 10 ft. Looks like yours has a little more room in front of the front bench. Otherwise it's the same.
It was my great grandfather's. I'm not sure where he got it or if he bought it new or not.
I do know that the Lone Star Boat factory in Grand Prairie was only open from 1945 to 1960.
Mine has those same slat things in the floor. I've always thought they might be a seat mount of some kind.
I have sprayed Flex Seal on every seam and rivet to stop it from leaking.
My grandfather claimed they put a 15 horse engine on it one time. Not sure if i believe that story.
