12/24 VOLT WIRING ?

Trying to hook up a Motorguide 12/24 volt,<br />the motor has 3 wires red,black,white,the way i under stand it is the red goes to + on battery A<br />the black to - on battery B and a jumper from - A<br />to + on B,so where does the white one go? Tried toget info on motororguide site, but only have diagrams for 2005 models that dont show any one with 3 wires.
