115hp mercury(6 stack)

i was told that they are bad engines. can anyone tell me what the problems are with <br />that motor? thanks

Hi,<br />IMHO there aren't any. I've run the L6s since<br />1963. I have a 1976 mod yr one that I'll<br />never get rid of. These were great engines. The 115 was regarded as one of the best of this line. Same basic displacement engine made from 90-140 hp. Not real fuel efficient, old style external T/T pump stinks, hoses expensive, wiring corroded easily, but simple durable motors. I have '80 90hp that runs perfect still.
