On each side?? The electric motor is on the port side. The fluid reservoir is on the starboard side.

Have engine tilted to the upmost up position, remoce the large slotted screw from the reservoir, fill to overflowing, replace screw with O Ring seal.

After i filled my reservoir i had to run the motor for a little while before the air got out of system Also i belive i ended up loosening a couple of the hard line fittings to get the fluid to start circulating. I think it is supposed to be a self bleeding system but requires some tinkering to get it going if fluid level was really low.

The large screw on the bottom of motor side releases pressure on system so it can be moved up and down manually. (I think thats how its supposed to work)

If you're speaking of the unusually large slotted item some distance beneath the electric motor, that's a check valve. Leave it alone.

Apply 7 to 12 pounds of pressurized air to the reservoir to force oil into whatever air lock might exist under the oil pump, then try the unit again.

You could also have a broken coupler between the t/t mtr and the oil pump in it.

How would I check that

If you're asking about the coupler thing..... that gets involved, remove the PTT unit, remove the electric motor, etc. Leave that as a last resort. Personally, I've never encountered that. Did you try the air pressure solution?
