My top carb is peeing out fuel with the motor running, so it needs a rebuild. I'm going to do all three while I am at it. I'm looking for some advice, words of wisdom, etc. for removing these carbs. Any tricks or things to watch out for?

I am particualrly concerned about getting the linkage installed correctly when I put them back in. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the starter has to come off. Please tell me the distributor does not have to to.

I have a Seloc manual, but its very general.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Re: 1150 (1970) Carb Removal

You will have to take the starter and distibuter of roll the engine to TDC befor removing the belt and it will make it easier to reinstall. Remove all 3 carbs together, don't tinker with the linkage, remove the link to the dist by taking the nut off the top connection on the throttle lever and it will help to take the 2 bolts out that hold the adjustment screws for spark advance idle and max throttle, when you reinstall them everything will be just as you took it apart so if it ran good before you took it apart it will run better with clean carbs. The syn and link crap is mostly that crap if someone don't tinker it up it don't need to be reset.
