1989 Yamaha 115 HP/ model 115ETLF Hard start, poor idle, dies upon acceleration. Then runs like a top above
1500 rpm to WOT. Ran fine last summer, was winterized, has fresh fuel, always have used fuel stabilizer, fresh NGK B8HS-10 Plugs, fresh oil,Plugs are not wet
Have good spark at all plugs, will rev up fine when not in gear, however, under load hesitates or stalls, not smoking any more than normal, what do I need to check for this problem? Thanks

I had a similar problem with my '91 evinrude 200. Turned out to be a plugged fuel filter. Might start there and one of the more knowledgeable people will probably be along shortly to help you further.

Re: 115 Yamaha Idle/Acceleration Problem

I am having the very same problem with my Yahama 70. We did clean out the fuel filter. It was plugged with sticky rubber from an old fuel line. Now that it is clean, what else should I try? Should I take the carborator off and clean it? At times, it runs perfectly. We have replaced the hose also. Are there any lines in the motor that would need cleaning?
