WHEN RUNNING FULL SPEED MOTOR WILL BACK OFF SOMETIMES. I CAN PUT IT IN THROTTLE AND REV IT UNTIL IT SMOOTHS OUT GETS POWER BACK,THEN PUT IT BACK IN GEAR AND IT WILL RUN SMOOTH AS EVER,UNTIL IT DOES IT AGAIN.SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL.I HAVE REPLACED THE PRIMER BALL AND PUT FUEL TREATMENT IN IT,NO LUCK.ANY INFO.WOULD BE APPRECIATED.TRYING TO PREVENT FROM PUTTING IN SHOP($$$).

Hi,I have a 90 merc that was doing the same but much worse,turned out to be the floats in the carbs,they have a spring on top that gets out of adjustment.If you have backdrag carbs (large plastic shutter in front)you might want to try that. good luck!
