Re: 115 johnson yr. 76 miss problems

Hi Choas,

Back firing is usually caused by a cylinder not getting spark at the right time. Are you sure that the wires from the power pack are going to the right coils, or are the right coil wires going to the right plugs? If it's back firing and not just caughing then that's where I would start.

Let us know how it comes out

Re: 115 johnson yr. 76 miss problems

IT IS MORE LIKE A COUGH, OR A SPUTTER
ON THE WATER WHEN GIVE IT FUEL IT DIES
IF I GIVE IT FULL THROTTLE I CAN GET IT TO GO
BUT IT ACKS LIKE IT IS STARVING FOR FUEL, IT CLEARS UP AT HIGH RPM. BUT RETURN WITH LOW TO MID RANGE RPM. ALL MY CONECTION ARE CORRECT. IS THERE A WAY OF CHECKING FOR SPARK IN EACH CYLINDER WITHOUT A SPARK TESTER - WITHOUT DAMAGING ANY THING? PLEASE HELP WITH A DIRECTION TO GO
