I have a 115 Johnson 83 Model number JS982723. Runs great once it's started, the problem is getting it to start. It did start great with no problems , then I took it out one day and it wouldn't start. I thought it was plugs so I changed them,no difference. Normal starting proceedure would be lift idle handle, or whatever it's called, push in key to choke engine and crank. Now if I lift the idle handle and/or choke it it will not crank, and will only crank by turning it over for a extremely long time. Checked carbs but didn't rebuild them because they looked in excellent condition, no build up.

Re: 115 Johnson help!!!!

Pump up the primer bulb and hold key in while cranking to start that model.

Re: 115 Johnson help!!!!

I've pumped the bulb tight, and check it after trying to start it, it stays tight. I've pushed the key in to choke it and <br />it doesn't help.
