My question is about the fuel pump, in my diagram I have 5 pieces to the fuel pump the five pieces are two gaskets, diaphragmm, cover ,and the base. However on my engine I still have 3 other pieces which are one gasket then a metal plate and then another gasket is attached to the engine. my question is do I have too many pieces I'm thinking that the metal plate is a metal version of the base. I have the plastic base too.

You need to make sure you are looking at the parts list for the exact version of your fuel pump. There is an earlier version with a base and two pulse lines, that mounts on the lower cowling. Yours looks to mount to the crankcase.

yes that part is still on the block with gaskets. I tried to get a picture while at the marina but my phone over heated. I removed the before but not this time. My problem was shifting into gear it would cut off. Then I read post that pointed to idle mix and that seem to solve it along with the tilt of the motor and not slow shifting into gear. Now when I throttle up in forward gear on the ramp it bogs down when I hit 1300rpm. I was using fresh gas 93.

1300 RPM is about the point when the main jets take over metering the fuel. Since you are having issues with the fuel pump, have some one pump the primer as you accelerate, as that is much more likely a problem, than clogged main jets. If that fixes it, your fuel pump is still not working properly.

Also put a timing light on a plug wire and make sure that you have spark as you accelerate.

you two help me a lot on here and I know some of the questions are redundant. I will be going to the boat tomorrow, I wanted to know on the fuel pump screen I had a green rubber gasket on top where the screw whole is under the cover, I do not see this in the parts diagram. Should I replace it with the one in the kit or does it not belong?
