Hey everbody, new to this great forum. I was out boating the other weekend when the 6 second alarm went off on my 2008 EFI 115hp fourstroke merc. (turned out to be a fuel problem). Docked the boat trying to diagnose the problem when we thought the oil level looked a little low. My fishing buddy went to the store and bought some 25w40 inboard/stearndrive oil and started filling the motor up the the proper level. (this is an outboard BTW) The shop mechanic told me that inboard oil doesn't matter whether in inboard/outboard application and just wait till the 100 hour service to change it out. (there's probably 3.5 quarts of outboard oil and 1.5 quarts of inboard in there). Any info if I should change it out now or just wait and what the difference of the two is? Thanks in advance
