Hey guys, so putting battery in, of course did the dumbass thing and grabbed the wrong wire and put the positive on the negative. Saw some smoke pulled battery cable off. Dug into motor found popped 30a fuse and wiring harness that melted in spots. Pulled the harness and put a replacement in. Motor starts and runs great, all accessories everything good. I checked battery before start it was 12.6v, noticed running was 14.9v. and voltage regulator was hot. Pulled regulator and put a new one on. Now running volts stay at 14.5-14.6, but regulator again gets very hot. I checked and cleaned, tightened all connections. Not sure where to look next, stator? Battery is good. Motor is a 2004 Merc 115 4 stroke. TIA
