I have a 1989 basstracker with a 110hp johnson. I recently had an incident where my plug was not tightened and fell out, luckily I didn't sink but I did take on a bit of water before I pulled it out. Sense then my motor has been running very loud. I'm not sure why, I replaced all the oil in the oil tank and flushed the lines before I ran it. The boat and motor suffered no damage, prop and transom are perfect. It was running fine before so I'm kind of puzzled.

Powerhead base gasket failure? If you pull the cowling off do you see any signs of exhaust from under the block?

The exhaust is louder than before, I don't hear any knocking just seems louder in the water when throttling up.
