I have a chance to buy a 2008(put into service in 09) Mercury Optimax 150 for $4500 with 1100hrs...
The engine was on a pump out boat for the town, and has been maintained by my marina since new.
95% of the hrs are under 3000rpm. Would you trust an Opti that has been properly maintained with that many hrs????
Thanks....

the opti if properly maintained should run at least another 1100 hours

That price is high. Looked at a F225 the other day with 387 hours for $5,400

I don't know where you live... but in Mass, I don't think you could touch a f225 in good shape under 8k !!!!
The only reason I am considering it is because it is as close to a proven non abused motor as I will ever find!
I am running a 98 150efi merc and it loves the fuel a little too much!

The price is about $800 high for the hours, make sure you get controls and gauges with it. If they are going to rig it for that price then its a good deal
