Ok, which models? Either way, you can't tell??? I'd go with the Kawi, because I think it is softer riding, has a nice more comfortable thumb throttle, and probably power trim which is a plus! I'm basing this on my personal experience with my recent 96' 1100 Yamaha Waveventure 3 seater. It is fairly fast, and quick outta the hole, and can carry a lot of weight, but it gives a hard bouncy wet ride on even a glass lake with the slightest wave, or wake. I had it up to 52mph yesterday, but you better hold on, as the faster you go the more violently it wants to throw you off with any waves. It has a tendency to porpose easily, randomly, also at any speed , and with me on it, it appears bow heavy which doesn't help matters any at all speeds, without having any trim control to bring the bow up. Shimming the ride plate when I first got it, helped but not enough. This past Sunday driving around all day like the pony express with my kids, & grandkids, my butt, legs, & back were done for from all the pounding! Another item is the 2 finger throttle which starts to hurt your hand after awhile (like carpal tunnel syndrome) something that never bothered me on my previous 96' Kawi 750SSXi with the thumb throttle. On glass water you might not notice this too quickly, but on a big choppy lake, it gets old real quick!

The yamaha is a better built boat IMO. I had both yamahas and kawis and I think yamahas are a little better built. Both skis are great but my yamahas gave me less problems overall.
