I have a 109lb, 36V Digital Motorguide Trolling Motor with Foot Pedal.

Today when I plugged the Trolling Motor into the bow recepticle it immediately kicked on at top speed without pressing on the foot pedal.

I unplugged it, then disconnected the foot pedal. Then I reconnected the plug to the bow recepticle and the motor again kicked in at top speed.

In other words I have no control over the Motor and it is stuck on high whenever it is connected to the power source.

I have had the Trolling Motor for a year with no problems. As I am on an electric motor only lake I am dead in the water. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check the "go" button to see if it is jammed, or if the MOM-CONT (momentary/continuous) switch is set to continuous. You didn't mention whether you've attempted to adjust the speed with the speed selector. In the Continuous mode the motor will run when power is applied.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. Yes both have been checked. Even with the footpedal disconnected, when the motor is plugged into power source it kicks on at full speed. On this model there are no other controls on the unit itself.
