the 100 4 stroke is a good motor for the boat but it is a carb motor i would spend a little extra and get the 115 4 stroke it will be fuel injected which will mean less maintenance, easier starting especially in foul weather and should be a little cleaner burning but either way i would choose either one over the standard carb two stroke

It all depends on what you expext out of your boat. I have a 21' CC with an 1984 90hp mercury. It cruises around 26, tops out at 34 mph. With the doel fins it gets on plane right away. There are rarely times where I wish I could go faster, buts that just me. I dont have a need for speed.

I dont go out with 6 people, a 200qt cooler full of ice and beer (ok maybe a 90 qt will go with me sometimes :D ) I also dont pull people on skis or tubes. I just like to go fishing with 1 or 2 of my buds.

Yor delima is a tough one. I sure would like to have a 4 stroke, and with all the emmision standard talks...one must wonder  . I think it would be just cool to be able to turn the key and presto..the engine is running.

IMHO I dont think you will miss the 15 hp difference, unless you have plans on pulling skiers. I would most likley choose the 100hp 4 stroke. Once again that's just me(Mr. No Excitement)

Congrants on whatever motor you choose..(sniffle, sniffle)

Bobby Powell
