I'm trying to order a replacement trailer axle and have already replaced hubs, buddy bearings, and all of that with new so I'd like to keep the 1" spindle...but it seems like all the trailer axles I can find now are only 1 1/16". Is there anybody out there still making 1" spindle axles that are complete? I can only find weld-on spindles in that size.

Or am I S.O.L. and need to upgrade to 1 1/16"

Southwest Wheel in Dallas. Incredible prices. I got two hubs, bearings, seals, spindles, nuts, washer, dust cap, delivered for $75. Spindle probably $8
Why the hell we have 1" and 1 1/16" is beyond me.....

Yeah I can find hubs and all that even spindles for 1" but haven't found a complete axle with 1" yet. Even they only sell 1 1/16 axles on their site 🤯 figure by tomorrow worst case I'm upgrading to 1 1/16 lol

oh thought you just wanted spindles not whole axle. PIA to weld a spindle on straight. Not to mention distortion due to heat. If possible buy complete and already welded even if you have to spend more than you wanted.

I think the 1 inch and 1 1/16 (1.063) is the same axle. The ID of the 1 inch axle bearing is 1.063

To replace a spindle, the old one would need to be cut off, and the new one welded into place. ... The new spindle must be absolutely square with the axle in order to prevent premature tire wear and wheel tracking problems. I would recommend finding a welder who is experienced with trailer axles.

1” bearing are/where used on #1,250 axles.
On parts (bearing) availability alone, I would upgrade to a #2,500-3,500 axle

I am 99% positive you can find a new pre-fabbed axle (northern tool) for less than you will pay someone (that does it for a living) to weld on a spindle. I think I got a new axle for my jet ski trailer for $59, obviously it included the spindles and was galvenzid.
