Hello everyone.I bought this motor from a kid that says that it needs a coil.idk It starts up just fine and after it warms up good it will die and wont start up till it cools down.It doesnt apear to be over heatin and is peeing great out the back.I have never worked on a outboard but was wanting to give ita try.IF it is a coil then thats the box that has the plug wires out of it rite?lol

Nope. That's called a CD module.

So what do you think is causing it to quit like it is? Is that cd box the problem maybe?

It could be anything. Start with one of the three engine systems and then run the test procedures in your service manual.

service manual? oh my .I guess i need to get one.I ran it sunday in a barrel and it runs great for about 30 or so minutes then it just dies.Wont start back up like he said till it cools.
